Kevin G. Bender is the critically-acclaimed director and producer of The Receipt (2008) along with four other feature-length films and over forty additional film and video projects including commercials, music videos, documentaries, and narrative short films. He graduated with distinction, magna cum laude, from the University of Virginia in 2008 with a degree in Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity and graduated summa cum laude from the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 2016 ranked second in his class. He is also an award-winning author and public speaker, can read and write in several ancient languages, and whose additional hobbies include hiking, rock climbing, database development, graphic art, vinticulture, travel, and collecting frequent flier miles. Kevin G. Bender is a member of the Order of the Coif, the American Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association, the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Fraternity and is the co-founder and managing director of RiverBend Films. The Quantum Suicide of Sophie Miller was the fifth feature narrative film he has directed.

Ashley Kinney is a recent graduate from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in English and a minor in Media Studies. She thoroughly enjoyed producing The Artist with Riverbend Films in 2009. She directed the musical She Loves Me! for Spectrum Theatre in the fall of 2009. She also served as the Artistic Director of Spectrum Theatre for the 2009-2010 season. She has been found onstage acting and singing since 1998. Her hobbies include theatre, singing, fiction writing, and reading.

Matthew Marcus is guy who has acted a lot, wrote some, and knows a lot of really talented people willing to work hard on his crazy artistic endeavors. Most recently he appeared in DC Fringe Festival's Fat Men in Skirts and recorded the voice for ucanpooptoo.com (not kidding). He stars in the indie film Wombs and will appear in the webseries Confab. He has also written for video games, working with Minor Lords on games for smart phones and tablets.

Alexia is thrilled to join RiverBend Films and the cast of The Quantum Suicide of Sophie Miller. Having portrayed Sophie twice before (Winner - Best Actress, SLT One Act Festival), she is looking forward to the new challenge of taking Sophies journey from stage to film. Born just outside Chicago, IL, Alexia moved to the Washington, DC, area at a young age. She has always had a flair for the dramatic and, for as long as she can remember, she has dreamt of being in movies. In addition to this film, Alexia has been cast in the indie-horror-comedy Ninjas vs Monsters from Endlight Productions. Aside from Sophie, some of her favorite roles include Helena in A Midsummer Nights Dream, Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Desdemona in Othello and Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker. Alexia is looking forward to a busy and exciting summer making movie magic!

Darrell is a Northern VA native who has worked behind-the-scenes in regional theater for the past ten years. He's an At-Large Board Member of one of Prince William County's oldest non-profit arts groups - Prince William Little Theatre. Being a child of the 1980s, his love of movies began at a young age with the John Hughes classics - Ferris Beuller's Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, and the list goes on. As his tastes matured he developed a love for the visual style of Stanley Kubricks work - probably his favorite filmmaker were he forced to choose. Today he enjoys following the work of Christopher Nolan, Roman Polanski, Woody Allen, and Judd Apatow, among many others. Darrell is excited to be working with RiverBend Films on this project, and after producing the stage version of the Quantum Suicide of Sophie Miller three times, can't wait to help tell Sophies story again - this time on the silver screen.


Zachary Pruckowski

Zachary Pruckowski holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Virginia. A longtime RiverBend Films collaborator, he has worked with the sound departments on The Receipt, The Artist, and The Quantum Suicide of Sophie Miller. Along with his film experience, he also has experience mixing live stage shows with the University of Virginia Programs Council and Drama Departments. He works in Washington, D.C., as a software developer focused on mobile platforms.




Kyle Ringgenberg

Kyle is a Midwest boy turned Texan by way of Virginia. He's composed original scores for two previous RiverBend Films productions, The Receipt and The Artist. His soundtracks have sold internationally and have been acclaimed as "stuffed to the brim with cozy orchestral flourishes that sound too rich to be digital" (C-Ville News & Arts). Holding a B.S. & M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Kyle is also active in special & visual effects with a particular focus on 3d computer animation. He's currently co-producing the animated short film "Reflection", also with RiverBend Films. When not composing or animating, he spends his time performing (violin, saxophone, & EWI), developing embedded software, and creating electronic gadgetry.

Rebecca Samuels holds an Associate's Degree in Film and Theatre Studies from Northern Virginia Community College and has completed numerous training programs in cinematography, film editing, acting, and directing. She has performed in, written, produced, and directed several short films. The Quantum Suicide of Sophie Miller is her first feature film and her first collaboration with RiverBend Films.

Diane Worden is currently working towards a degree in Game Design at the Academy of Art University. She has always been known to be creative and has been drawing for most of her life. She is keenly interested as an artist by the questions The Quantum Suicide of Sophie Miller poses about life, faith and fate. This is her first time working in film.
