Follow-up Project to The Receipt Announced (continued)
The second newly-announced production is a feature-length action/adventure film from the pen of UVa fourth-year drama student Matthew Marcus entitled The Artist, which is set to be the major follow-up to to RiverBend Films flagship film The Receipt and will feature many of the same cast and crew, including actor Matthew Marcus and music composer Kyle Ringgenberg. Artist will be the fifth film and second feature film to be shot in a full-1080p High Definition digital process and will be the first production to be exhibited and released using new Sony Blu-Ray High Definition technology in 720p panoramic widescreen accompanied by full Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound mix. The Artist tells the story of Alex, a college student and comic-book afficionado who comes to believe that he is a living superhero and that he is destined to save the world from his arch-nemesis, his psychology professor Anthony Andrews. Writing, casting, and additional pre-production will begin in early June 2008 and will continue through July and August. Casting decisions will likely be announced sometime in July 2008 and major crew members will also be announced around this time frame. Principal photography is tentatively scheduled to begin in early September 2008 and end in January or February 2009. (Previous Page)
