Kevin G. Bender is the critically-acclaimed producer and director of The Receipt (2008) and The Artist (2009), along with numerous other films and documentaries. He was a 2004 graduate of the International Baccalaureate Program in York County, Virginia, where he also graduated fourth in his class. During high school, he was the regional champion in Forensics extemporaneous public speaking three consecutive years and placed first in the Behavioral Science category of the regional science fair two consecutive years. From 2004-2008 he attended the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, where he majored in Religious Studies with a concentration in Christianity and Judaism in Antiquity. He graduated magna cum laude, with distinction, in 2008. While a student at U.Va., he produced and directed The Receipt, which at the time of its release was the most expensive and ambitious student film project ever undertaken at the school. He can read and write both ancient Greek and Hebrew, and his hobies include playing and composing music for classical guitar, hiking, landscape photography, and of course, watching movies.
